Design and Construction of Rock Protection for Delma Island Airport Runway Coast

This project involved the design and construction of rock protection works for the coastal protection of the runway area at Delma Island Airport. The works were executed to safeguard the runway coastline against erosion, wave impact, and long-term marine exposure, ensuring the stability and operational safety of the airport infrastructure

The project was delivered for DRM under the consultancy supervision of Italconsult, requiring strict compliance with international aviation and marine construction standards. The scope included detailed engineering, supply and placement of rock armour layers, and execution of coastal defense systems in a challenging offshore environment.

As the Main Contractor, the project was successfully completed within the contract duration of August 2024 to November 2025, with a total value of AED 81,000,000, achieving high-quality delivery, structural integrity, and long-term coastal protection performance
